Travel and Quarantine Update

Travel-related quarantine periods and their implications for employers.

Following the suspension of all travel corridors with the UK back in January this year, Transport Secretary Grant Shapps addressed the nation in Whitehall press conference briefing on 7 May to announce the first ‘tentative’ steps towards unlocking international travel for England As such, the Global Travel Taskforce has set out a traffic light system which classifies countries based on COVID-19 risk – a red list, an amber list and a green list.


These changes are likely to have an impact on employers who will now have to carefully manage the self-isolation period for any employees they may have undertaking international travel over the coming months.
