Worker Protection Act 2023: What does it mean for your business?

The Worker Protection (Amendment of Equality Act 2010) Act 2023 or more simply, the Worker Protection
Act) comes into force on 26 October 2024 – and it’s set to cause a huge shift in responsibility for sexual
harassment in the workplace.

Employers will be required to take all reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment of employees. And, if a tribunal finds that an employer failed to take steps to protect workers, it’ll be able to order them to pay a 25% uplift on any compensation for sexual harassment.
